I am new here and I must say -- a little bit intimidated by everything I have read. You are all very very good. I enjoyed reading the posts. Oblivion I already found oblivion in muted shades of blue dark purple around the outside within the depths of you I discovered it by accident quite sometime ago as I tiptoed so softly around the worn edges of your soul I thought of trying to mend it as I fingered where it was torn Wounds so far under I couldn't reach without causing terrible scars I stepped back to let you breath and within your eyes I saw myself A mirror image who could not speak or even define herself Chimera, woman, child all seeking to be one as she who was I shivered beneath the frozen rays of the sun What we sought we could not name it was a thing, not even a place I did not realize that it was only me until I reached out to touch her face My hands passed through mist drawing me deeper into the unseen The realm that I knew was always there even though told it could not be It wrapped me in darkness cushioned me so well It whispered to me of secrets that I may never tell It sang me songs in silence extracting small pieces of life Stealing a way my memories like dawn does the velvet night Sweet oblivion come to me wash away the fear Lay with me for eternity or at least while we are here I don't care about the world and what is bound to happen next I simply want peace without the finality of death [This message has been edited by Midniteyez (edited 10-16-1999).] |
