The smell of home-cooked meals followed

By the slaps and screams of an untamed

Existence

That's what I've always known

As a child, I had hope for the future

Now I'm reaping the harvest my ancestors have sewn

The constant battle for serenity

Leaves me exhausted, I've always felt

That the burden I've carried was mine alone

It's too hard, somtimes, to share

What's in my heart, harder still to bear

I am the rope in a tug-of-war

How do we come through, is it love or pride

That helps us put it all aside

It's rough to get past the rejection of

A loved one, on both sides

And in the end, the only thing to matter

Is the core of steel that keeps us bound

To our beginnings, evil and good

I still love you.

The night is my companion
The solitude my guide
Would I spend forever here
And not be satisfied?

You are not alone in thinking that way my friend. Nice job
