So many weapons this woman has
That I love so dear
Kill a man seven ways to Sunday
Or so one should fear

Once caught in her eyes so deep
It is futile to seek escape
And her perfect smile has a gleam
A sparkle that blinds you to your fate

Her fluid movements of style and grace
Will cause your head to reel
While in the contours of her curves
Lies the sharpest edged steel

Her black silken hair reflects
Like a diamond tipped whip
And her words cut to the quick
With fast and furious wit

So assured of her standing
That in the end there will be she
I thank the heavens up above
This woman so dearly loves me

Greetings! Sorry it took so long to respond in kind, but between the hicups on the server and on my own computer, work and life in general I'm only now finding it possible. Thank you for your kindness... I do in deed love my wife dearly and with that said, I should come clean and note that this poem is not about my wife and I. I'll claim being the author in real life, but it was written from the perspective of one fictional character to another. Aside from writing, my other favored passtime is fantasy roll playing... my character of choice at this moment just happens to be a bard. To say the least, he's provided me with some interesting material. Thanks again.

This is very well done. It is important to feel that your mate has qualities and strengths of her own and that she is with you by choice, not need or weakness. We all need someone to look up to, admire, and even fear losing, if necessary.

A man who can see beauty in the 'hard edge' of a woman...good job..even if it's not about you lovely wife!

Sir Balladeer & Lady DeVine: I bow to you both as talents with opinions I hold in great esteem. Many thanks for your kind words. As for my wife... she is anything but weak and woe to the person who treats her as such.

Bravo my friend, even if it is written from a fictional characters point of view. It is difficult to step out of yourself and let your mind become someone else. I enjoy trying to do it in my own writting. I do so enjoy your work.
