Crown Jewel

When you hold something this precious,
You're told to check it everyday.
Some will try to take it from you,
Somehow it always gets away.

Indeed, this beauty beyond words
Holds quite a lustrous shine.
At times I have to pinch myself
Just to believe this jewel is mine.

For so long I was impoverished,
‘Never believed I'd see this day.
Not taking a thing for granted,
Let me just take this time to say...

I've been the jester, been the king,
Set high upon the throne.
Escaped the Darkness to this light
That shines for me, alone.

I've worn the rags, I've worn the wealth,
But now I've seen just what life's worth.
To hold this jewel, to hold your love,
I know I'm the richest man on Earth.

Beautiful, Michael. I love reading your poetry for Femme.

Kissing up???

LOL Michael, honestly, this is beautiful. However, I beg to differ, for I believe I am the richest man on Earth.

What can I say to a poem like this - except to tell you how special you always make me feel when you write something like this....of course you already know that....this is really beautiful, and as always I'm honored. One day I hope to meet you and be held in your arms....so that I can feel this love you have flow through to me....and mine to you. I love you dearly for who you are, and what you've helped me become....myself again.
