Brother ( A villanelle )

How do you say, was it good bad or fine?
Close in youth, the rest aloof and away,
We pressed our grapes and we tasted our wine.

Now our basic day is spent in decline
And in naivete I ask and say
How do you say, was it good bad or fine?

Bilious as the days may be, or indign
I, in all sincerity do assay,
We pressed our grapes and we tasted our wine.

Life weather grey or gay a separate dine
And although each served on a different tray,
How do you say, was it good bad or fine?

Grateful we should be, the fruits of our vine,
We have passed our genetic D. N. A.
We pressed our grapes and we tasted our wine.

Our stays closes reign and anchors seek brine.
Our children weigh their voyages today.
How do you say, was it good bad or fine?
We pressed our grapes and we tasted our wine.

Your words - like your D.N.A. - will live on forever! Another great one, Seymour.

After doing one of these myself, my hat's off to anyone that attempts them and especially to anyone who does as well as you have!

Agreed with ruth...great job... I think that's the first time I've seen DNA used in a poem!
