An Angel's Voice

The "next" step in our relation...
I awaited the phone to ring.
In nervous anticipation
Of just what the moment might bring.
Would a silent trepidation
Defile "our" heart's christening?
Or would fear finally find remission
Coming to hear my lover sing?

Trembling hands answering the phone.
A fluttering in heart finds peace.
Souls nevermore to be alone,
Come together in a caprice.
The ice melts away in laughter,
Without a word, in sweet rejoice...
All the dreams in life I was after
Manifest in an angel's voice.

I found a purity in white.
She found truth, sincerity.
A moment, the whole world seems right,
When you know you've met Destiny.
Every emotion, glows so bright.
To the stars sharing love unbound.
An angel spoke to me last night.
Alas, there is no sweeter sound.

Oh my, this is a misty-eyed piece indeed! Glad to have you back writing the wistful-sigh type stuff, Michael ... though you are adept at darkness, methinks this suits better your soul ...

I was interested to know what had happened with this scenario anyway ... I guess now we all have our answer. I am thrilled for you both.

Anybody want to chip in for a Cali-to-Memphis fund..? I DO so love happy endings ...

'Nuff said indeed.
(Though I envy the cost of your phone bills vs mine!)

Am sitting here with this hugh s#@* eating grin on my face and thinking about how wonderful that voice can be when you hear it for the very first time. Who cares about phone bills at a time like this. I'm so glad you two got to talk finally. I vote we all meet in California and just get it all over with. What is it about these California guys anyway?? Memphis to California, Australia to California, and Pennsylvania to California...wow girls are these California guys lucky or what?? (Smiles to herself thinking that actually we're the lucky ones, but we won't tell them )
Nicely done Michael, I truly enjoyed the read...been wondering.

Michael...this is really beautiful....thank you. Is it a little different than what you showed me? I know you said you weren't done yet - I really like the finished piece! The last stanza was my favorite -

*** So for all who wondered how things went - I called him with squirrels in my stomach (butterflies wouldn't suffice) and we stammered through the first 2 sentences - - after that, everything was fabulous...nearly 3 hrs. later, we said our goodbyes reluctantly...His voice was not at all what I expected (scruffy & rough) I say, he seduced me with just his sigh.....(wink) Says I did the same for him !!!!! At 7cents a minute, I figure that's a pretty reasonable investment for a good man. Pretty cheap "life insurance" when it comes to Michael. (meaning his love) Guess it's my turn to write about "his voice"......****blowing kisses

Congrats! So glad things went well!
