Daydreaming

I go to my room and slouch in the chair
and lock my eyes in that familiar stare
then before you know it...I'm high as the sky
floating on clouds my daydream and I.

I've traveled through space to visit the moon
so please don't rouse me, I'll be coming home soon
just after I capture an alien or two
daydreaming is such a fun thing to do.

I can't resist a daydream's siren call
to travel somewhere and not be there at all
but only when I'm gone things never get done
that's when coming back home isn't much fun.

Is daydreaming just for those who are young
and when you reach thirty has your song been sung ?
Nah !! When things get crowded and everyone's there
I'll go to my room and slouch in the chair.

I have created in my mind so many different lives. I can pick and choose which I would like to travel to on any given day. The thing I have mastered is daydreaming while doing the dishes and the floors. My hands are not idle while my mind flies.

Great job friend.

I love daydreaming too...to get lost in my own little world.

Rhyme and meter or not...it's all creative
and always an enjoyable read.

Ahh, Daydreaming ! My favourite means of passing the time. Hmm, maybe that's why my house is such a mess ? : )
