Unspoken

I sit and wait for you.
Time passes slowly
Minutes, hours, days
I wait.
Knowing that each phase of the moon
Brings my dreams closer.
Soon I will have you here
In my arms where you belong.

The words I long to say
Will sit on my lips
Unspoken.
My fear will hold me back.
Iíll look at you
With my emotions shining in my eyes.
Will you see it?
Probably not.

After all the waiting
Iíll still be too scared to speak
To reveal my true feelings.

But Iíll keep waiting
For the day when weíre both
Ready.

I am the captain of my soul.

Very beautiful in its straight-forwardness. I like your writing style, Tara

At times when waiting in utter silence is when the unspoken is heard the loudest - from within.... well done Tara

Thank you for the comments. I wrote this one before he ever came to visit. And just as I predicted, the words went unspoken, but not unfelt. I'm debating on whether or not to show him the poem.

My dear Tara, those words will come and all the fear will be erased.

It feels so right because it is so right!

Remember, Pink is my favorite color!!! (Ask me if you wonder what the heck THAT means!)

Pink bridesmaid's dress, Julie? You must be joking! I would never pick pink.

Pepper, I'm mulling it over. The thought terrifies me!

Caroline, he only made me cry once. I had asked him to come visit me back in March, he thought it over and finally said No. I cried when I got off the phone that night. But I'm so glad he changed his mind!
