cold granite structure
looming so grey and tall
with circling stair before me

a forboding seeps through me
as the demons scream
from the windowless tombs
encased in these stone walls

with ragged movement
I surmount the stair
each painful torturous step
bringing me nearer
to the one thing

the one thing
that gives me hope
I hear your voice
it calls to me

come

gathering my strength
prevailing over enshrouding darkness
I win the arduous flight
to find myself warmed by your tender embrace

You just never seem to lose your touch with imagery, Izzy...

Indeed, Izzy, you paint a vivid image and draw on the readers emotions as well...very well done.
