(This is just something I played around with on break at work last night)

Love’s Mist

I dream of you
on the deck of a ship
soft haze enveloping you
as night sets in

I am jealous of the mist
I long to wrap myself around you
like a comfortable robe
swaddling you in my body

Let me sing to you the oceans lullaby
hear my voice in its rhythm
see my face in the waves
feel my kisses in the spray
and crash upon my shores

Today, you sail the sea
~tomorrow, sail to me

Well I guess love is the theme of the morning and yet, all I can do is sit here twiddling my thumbs...first severn, now you...I may as well just go back to bed.

Seriously, a touching poem...makes me miss Femme all the more.

For just playing around with something during a work break you did a damn fine job with this one...and if this is just playing, I would definately love to see something taking serious effort.

This evokes the sea's sensuality with vivid use of imagery. All I can hear in my head is Sugarloaf's "Green-Eyed Lady".

Beautiful, Ruth! I especially love the last two lines. Heavenly.

hoot...keep playing around on breaks!
I agree with the above comments, especially Ali's about the song "GreenEyed Lady" (I can hear it too!)...and yes, the last two lines are perfect!

Hoot,

Can you teach me how to play around?!?
This was excellent!
