This is the season, this is the time,
when my world comes alive.
When nature's colors began to splatter,
from almost every side.
As far as the eye can see, there
are hues of every shade.
Some of them so dazzling bright,
and others begining to fade.
Leaves dancing on the ground,
performing a delicate ballet.
I could watch them for hours,
as back and forth they sway.
Sunlight tumbles, through limbs
now bare, making it easy to see,
where the leaves prepared for the coming
fall, forsakening a magnificent tree.
The fall will soon be gone from me,
as my love for someone has to die.
I know my time will come again, but
for him and this fall season, I cry.
In my heart there is a sadness.
But deep down an ember will glow.
For him and for a new fall season,I yearn,
though with longing, I'll watch them go.
