Remember Me…

I see you in your paradise of wind
crashing waves and sunlight move
together to form flowing crystal rain
splashing onto shore
I conjure up your image, see you living
your dreams and knowing you never
think of me now…
though you have lived my life for me
An error of my heart
which I must account for to the many
that I hurt in your name
I live with the crippled trust you
left to me, a scar transferred to
all I touched afterward
But you…bathed in the ocean breezes,
castled in the sands of islands…
You live without memory of my love
Blind to my face behind closed eyes
Any reminder of me washed away in
the tides of your Eden
I send these words on a voyage
into the gulf…a message in a bottle
to float into your pirate mind
and recall me from the guilty
passages of your history
A fleeting sight of the
ship of illusion that you
captained so skillfully…
and abandoned so easily
to sink to the depths of a
watery hell
I sail on…grace and honor
reviving my masts
Fresh currents like smooth
glass lead me to new seas of
glory and there are no thieves
to steal the gold from my eyes
Remember me…

This is excellent...I like the strength portrayed at the end of the poem. Well done.

My Lord, Caroline - this is superb!
'Castled in the sands of islands...' - simply beautiful.
