When the trees are crowned with leaves,
And dressed in ribbons fair,
The songs of birds fill the woods,
I place the springtime flowers in my hair.

I celebrate the coming of Spring,
In my own special way,
Becoming a part of the beauty,
I absorb myself in the day.

I can feel the ancient rhythms,
Taking hold in my heart,
Communing with nature,
Celebrating the season's start.

Beneath an endless sky,
I feel like the ancient ones,
With garlands and ribbons in their hair,
Dancing, celebrating,my heart it's over run.

Overrun by this unparalled beauty,
That comes but once a year,
All the land, trees and plants,
Are born anew.

I skip along the pathways,
Leading down to the sea,
Picking wildflowers along the way,
The scent of sea air caressing me.

I hear the ocean breathe,
It exhales upon the shore,
It's gentle sounds a melody,
No tempest to endure.

Listening I know the truth,
'Tween the rocks the wind does wail,
I've found the existance of peace,
Hiding behind the veil.

Beneath the Gravillea flowers,
Amidst the native trees,
I give you now my thoughts and feelings,
And all their mysteries.

Come on!! You are making me jealous of Australia!!!!!!!!

Unusually exceptional. After the Clouds poem you wrote (which I have had no time to respond to yet, I can see that some of those beautiful clouds might have flowed over here, from OP#2!! Which I can't check out anymore.)

Oh, I do look forward to assigning another "free-verse" challenge! [wicked smile]

Oh what a beautiful world we would live in
If only you could design our seasons
Truly a lovely interruption of spring
I thank thee sweet maiden for thy gift
Which you have shared with us all

"I can feel the ancient rhythms,
taking hold in my heart"

that is purely poetic and natural.

Well done Isis. This one likes me many times over.
