Teddy

You're everywhere
wardrobes, boxes and bed
tall, fat, thin I love my cuddly bears
some with such cute mishapen heads

I have memories of each of your days
and they bring back smiles of delight
with 'you' it was a game consistently played
unfair contest as you are won without a fight

I remember when I used to cry
going back to my childhood years
when hugs were in such short supply
and touching your fur would calm my fears

Nightly I change you round
contented with you by my side
so that I can sleep safe and sound
my dreams in you I trust and confide

You give but little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself that you truly give.

Pufalove: You as well.. I truly love my bears, there's something so utterly soft about them,I can't resist a hug...I often wonder if they come out and play at night like you hear in children's fables.. only kidding..*g*

I still have my first and only Teddy...most of his fur is gone, along with one eye, but he is still my Teddy

Love this, Rainbow...made me smile!

Who among us didn't have a teddy bear (Balladeer had sheep, we know that). I loved the simple beauty of this...make me long for cookies in bed..snuggled in my jammies, Ted E. Bear by my side...

Yes, I used to have a collection. (a bit silly for one my age)...over 500. They all had names, too. That's what happens when you have no children. They took up so much space that I donated them to Toys for Children at Christmas. Again, I really loved this one.

I did NOT have sheep. I had THREE teddy bears with me...Momma bear, Poppa bear and Baby bear by a previous marriage.

From what I hear, PDV, you're still baring, er, bearing it nightly.

Terrific poem, Rainbow

GROOOOOOSSSSSSS!
Girly poem!
LOL, just teasing rainbow, but I admit I would rather have a woman I called teddy bear, than a teddy bear called woman!
Hugs!

This was great, we have a big fat 4' teddy bear that I got for my husband for one of our anniversary's. I had it delivered to the house with a bow around it, he sits in a corner watching over us. I also have a 5' Monkey named Sport that is a passanger in my van. Kind of silly, but no where else to put him right now, so he rides around with me.
