Let there be light, God's first command,
Behold the glory of dawn's first light,
As light of life spreads 'cross the land,
Retreating forces of the night.
Rose and crimson from forth the east,
In splendored hues, dark sky ignite,
Cascading over man and beast,
Comes great white sea; comes dawn's first light.
As waters part; light parts the mist,
Spreading forth from crest to crest,
Each hill and valley soon submissed,
As world from darkness, light does wrest.
Upon us all does shine the light,
Retreating forces from the night.
