thoughts silently dying
suffocating and suffering
caught in a web
of self-consciousness

ideas drifting away
wailing and crying
battered under a fist
of selfish anxiety

emotions quietly drowning
screaming and flailing
sunk beneath the weight
of self pity and fear

words sullenly still
sulking and brooding
witheld by the lips
of my own free will

When I'm sulking and brooding, my words are better left unspoken! *S* Well done!

Quite true. Sometimes things are better left unsaid. (Is that a quote or something....hmmmm)

"witheld by the lips

Very good poem! The phrases you used here are unusual but certainly get your message across!
