I walked among the fallen leaves,
and felt your hand in mine;
I turned to speak and naught was there,
but gnarled trees entwined.

I sat along the winter's beach,
and heard your steps near me,
when I looked up to see your face,
a gull flew out to sea.

Among the flowers in springtime green,
I sat in mild repose.
You touched my cheek, I reached for you,
and found my brightest rose.

In summer's shade my thoughts go back;
thru' mounded years they send,
my memories to the time I found
a new and loving friend.
