Listening to every heart
Treasures (for Pepper)
There is a sweet peace that presides in me
when someone reads my simple homilies
and then to find Iíve inspired someoneís mind
a feel for wording, something that rhymes.
Iíve recently found some pleasant leisure in
sharing poetry with the best of friends ~
Iíve nothing to fear, and nothing to hide,
my shyness has taken a backseat ride.
Then taking another step, one that is large
Iíve gone from small ship to a great barge
in attempting a childrenís story, simple, true;
and now ITíS out for opine and review!
Oh my, where are my footsteps now taking me?
Some place, it seems, where there looms mystery!
Will my work be ever praised or duly condemned?
Oh never mind, fear nor sorrow I shall not spend
because my work is from love in my heart,
Iíve learned that these simple words do impart
A gift of sorts, to people world Ďround,
Ďtis a treasure Iím given, and peace that Iíve found.
