Honored Friend

Your seething anger shows
it scares those who don't understand
when reaching out to someone
you're returned a bloodied hand

I have no words of comfort
I can only empathize
I, too, have been the victim
of perpetrated lies

I choose my prized ones carefully
My instinct seldom fails
I haven't love for blackhearts
who spread their cruel tales

Should liars look for sympathy
in copious amounts
they'll not find it in my heart
and mine's the one that counts

I understand your anger, friend
I've been there more than twice
I've heard those whispered words
of petty viciousness and vice

I'll be standing next to you
I will never do you wrong
Our codes of honor intact
Our friendship true and strong

Caroline, no flowery phrases to this reply.

I am humbled by your regard, your friendship, and yourself. This could just as well be written for you, since this shows me more than honor. It shows that you are honorable as well. Thank you dear for friends we will always be.

Caroline,
Loved this one as I do all your work.
This one really spoke to me, though. Loved it.

Thank you all for your response. I can only say that my words were inspired by someone I am proud to call Friend.

I find it difficult to make friends, but he has made this friendship easy
Thanks for understanding, Dream.
