A Villanelle , five lines of three
Confounded french , but let me see
Until at last , makes sense to me

I am entrenched ,'tis fight or flee
The die is cast , what is will be
A Villanelle , five lines of three

I will stand fast , if luck's with me
All will go well , I say to thee
Until at last , makes sense to me

Yea time will tell , of victory
Though hours have passed , I shall decree
A Villanelle , five lines of three .

I am steadfast , with staunch esprit
I will repel , mine enemies
Until at last , makes sense to me

Of four I'll tell , and thus you'll see
As was forecast , what is will be
Avillanelle , five lines of three
Until at last , makes sense to me !

I have no idea what "five lines of three" means, but the poem and construction is excellent.

Marilyn, S. Dreams, Thanks for the comments!
Balladeer, The five lines of three refers to the five tersets which form the major body of the Villanelle , To speak of four , refers to the quatrain which completes it . I set out to do this in such a way as to remind myself of the correct format. It seems to me that this was perhaps a battle cry in past usage , which did indeed help me complete this challenge .

Great Villanelle, better than mine for sure

I especially liked how every line rhymed, i don't think I could do that.

Quite impressive, Bullwinkle.
You have done well, indeed.
