Eulogy

I cannot say goodbye, my friend,
Goodbye would be a lie.
Your silver tongue has gone to still,
But arrows from its quill,
Still stay. They stay my wounded heart.
Your breed, uncommon skill,
Do nothing that the angels will,
Slay dragons of the day.

I cannot say goodbye, my friend,
Nor could you stop your end.
Your say still sways my wayward way,
Shapes my stand, stays the day.
And I will preach upon your view,
For as long as I may,
I will spew your light unto the new,
Surely to touch a few?

I cannot say goodbye, my friend,
I could not so offend.
Nor place your spirit underneath,
Nor lend a final wreath.
In me you have a special dwell,
To me a special knell.
And only on my last repel,
Will I a tear, farewell.

I love this poem - poignant, haunting, filled
with emotion. Well worded.

Seymore...a most interesting rhyme patter and flow this one has....just enough to create the illusion of unbalance....as in when someone dies, our world is no longer in proper balance. Understand what I am saying? I rather like the way it is done

Fantastic. Sad but beautiful-I like the form, Seymour.

this is incredibly lovely...so sad to experience the loss, but what comfort to know that in truth, you never really lose the one for whom you write such beauty.

This is beautiful, Seymour... some friends become a part of us and reside in our heart even when they can no longer walk at our side... we miss them terribly but they're still with us in every thought.
