Listening to every heart

Still

Stay still, and feel the completeness of it all,

feel the silky breeze breathe across your body
and the tingling sun’s rays kiss your flesh

stay still, and feel the completeness of it all,

feel the sand move silently beneath your bare feet,
hear the bluebells soft whisper in the wind
hold the sands within your hand, feeling the crystalline edge

stay still, and feel the completeness of it all,

smell the scent of summer again.

Stay still, and feel the completeness of it all,

close your eyes as into the cool lapping water you walk,
silently, no sound of a body’s talk

feel small minnows drifting, wiggling past your legs
lean back and float with eyes upraised

stay still, and feel the completeness of it all.

Gaze now upon the azure of the sky
and billowing cumulus clouds on high
this moment, so now, so totally complete

because you are still, and can feel the completeness of it all.

This reminds me of a saying I once heard: "Silence is the most powerful sound of all." You give good advice here ... it shows that you have an appreciation for the subtle rhythms that thread through us all ... I enjoyed the read. Thank you.

your poem brought such peace to me...wishing i could go back to my childhood and enjoy the lazy days of summer, instead of the rush of the working class.
