What made the color fade away
Replacing it with shades of gray;
What dashed the dreams that were so dear;
What made the magic disappear?

What caused the symphony to cease;
What led to harmony's decrease;
What orchestrated disarray;
What made the music go away?

What stole the lightness from the heart;
What made the laughter there depart;
What stole the love of life away;
What made the passion there decay?

What caused the death of hopefulness
Replacing it with nothingness;
What stole the sparkle from the eyes;
What caused the optimist's demise?

What dashed the dreams that were so dear;
What made the magic...disappear?

Thanks again Seymour. I'll keep them coming as long as I can get on the web. Intermittent systems problems are driving me nuts! Once I get online, I'm afraid to sign off! Thanks again for reading and commenting!

Why thank you Poet deVine. I enjoy yours and several others as well. I wish there were more hours in the day to read and comment on all of them! Thanks again.

I'm going to try to do that smiley face and hope it works!

I really enjoyed this, although it was sad. I hate when something wonderful ends

This is the first of yours I have read and it is superb! The construction is first rate and the words expertly chosen. I will certainly look for you in the future.

WOW, you've really got this rhyming and schematics thing down pat! Maybe you could teach me a thing or two! Wonderful! I loved it!

*Sigh* I still don't know what makes things change. Nicely written, d.
