She glides across the sky on wings of hate.
Born she is of ill-temper and malice.
Their bones picked clean by her, is every man's fate.
Her disregard for man's love is callous.

She perches in her tree, the wretched beast.
She thinks herself a thing of beauty.
Carrion comprises her grisly feast
Hating her is both man's right and duty.

She is a most cowardly carnivore.
Filled she is with the worst of self-despite.
She is truly a thing we should abhor.
Treachery is both her art and delight.

She looks on man with dispassionate eyes.
Her hunger for man includes each culture.
She feeds upon man as soon as he dies.
Man beware of this red-headed Vulture.

Kind of reminded me of someone I know-except she doesn't wait for death. Another fine one, DE.

This poem changed my mind. I won't become a redhead anytime soon! Good imagery!

LOL - The last line was the kicker.
I think I was picked clean by this very bird once.

It seems that redheads have a bad reputation, no matter the species.

DreamEvil,
Are you sure it was a vulture? I thought only peckers I mean wood peckers were red headed. Vultures are bald. Wonderful poem.

Seymour,
Play on words, the Turkey Vulture has a red-head.
