Sometimes they flow forth easily
-Seem preordained - sure destiny;

Some days they stage the firecest fight;
They slam the door then bolt it tight;

At times they bid me - beg me - play;
Most days they hide or run away;

They tease me often, clown around;
More often still they can't be found;

...They've even postured Socrates
And truly caused my brain to seize!

What's to be done with such as these?
If there's an answer - tell me please!

The answer's easy - don't you see?
If you want peace - do let them be;

Just simply let them have their way;
Go with the flow - and come what may!

I keep them in order with one look
if they don't behave, it's back to the book
from whence they jumped to stationary
back to Thesaurus and dictionary!

Good one! Thanks for the inspiration!

dsnyder,
I like your writing
It's easy to read
It's simple and plain
With no need to explain.

Why thank you, WhtDove. The only pointers I can give are to just write down what you are feeling and then revise, revise, revise until you have the right flow and feeling that you are aiming for. Also, I read somewhere to use as many descriptive words as possible! That's all I know. But I never studied poetry or literature. I'm sure there are others who could help you alot more! Thanks again! By the way your work is very good too!
