Must one climb the mountain
...to touch the sky above,
Soar on wings of eagles,
...to find the answer why?

He walked upon the barren shore,
...he leapt from rock to rock,
While on the waves the schooner sailed,
...no harbor which to dock.

He built within a wall of ice,
...to turn back passion's fire,
With icy cold pedantity,
...did freeze all out desire.

In return he lost his soul,
...his heart and freedom too,
Eternally he sought in vain,
...No answers did ensue.

He never left the rocky shore,
...to touch against the sky,
Never soared on eagles wings,
...nor found the answer why.

Embrace the Wave of Serendipity,
Lest its elusive arcane ecstasy
Refurl with sail for all eternity....

Nice one, Tim - I think this belongs among the best of your work......

The sail-less sailor. Well done, my friend.

I think this poem is just wonderful, and it is among your best. How true that once you build a wall around your heart, you close yourself out too. You are greatly talented, Tim. Don't ever stop writing!

I guess I really needed this today and am so glad I found it.
Serenity reminded me of the fact that all these poems are
right here!
