Funny how your world & dreams
.....can be within your reach -
And because one person's selfish heart
.....is hurt & cannot understand -
You trip on your emotions, falling fast
.....you lose control...
And suddenly the love you had
.....is ripped right out your soul.

It's like a storm that blows in fast -
.....to drench a sunny day
The sky is black & thunder rolls -
.....your heart breaks in this way.

Life is short - happiness sweet -
.....be strong & hold on tight...
The love you have - the dreams you hold -
.....Are always worth the fight !

Yes, some of us are worth fighting for, yet the ones truly worth keeping are the ones you never have to go to war over. We surrender with ease and are content to lie in your camp - never to defect. But that isn't where you're really coming from with this. Just adding my two cents and to say that I enjoyed your offering. Well done and thanks for sharing.

WOW!!!! This is incredible! the verse that really did it for me was:

"Life is short - happiness sweet -
.....be strong & hold on tight...
The love you have - the dreams you hold -
.....Are always worth the fight !"

Bravissimo!

Poems like this are why I am so glad to have found the forums ... being a reader and not a writer ... If your love/dreams are not worth fighting for, then nothing is ...thanks again ...

Great job, You have a way of stirring up emotions in me. It's really hard to deal with the cards that life has dealt you, at times, yet to know that there are still genuine people out there, as yourself and others here, it makes things just so much easier. With this hope in mind we can accomplish almost anything. Thanks again....
