I over heard a conversation
‘tween my hubby and some friends.
They were talking and comparing
what they do on their weekends.

Jeff said "Well I’m forced to mow
and clean out all the ditches."
"And if I don’t help with the kids
my wife sits round and *itches."

Then Steve said "Well I vacuum
and straighten up the couches."
"And if I don’t help cook the meals
my wife sits round and grouches."

When it came time for mine to talk
my ears perked up to listen.
And what I heard my hubby say
made the love in my eyes glisten.

For it was not complaining
he was doing at this time.
He told them "Man I love my wife
and I’m glad that she is mine."

"She cooks my meals, cleans my house
and raises our 2 kids."
"There is no woman better,
and she’s not up for bid."

"Cause I am gonna keep her
until the day I die."
I’d heard enough sweet words from him
to make me wanna cry.

And as I turned and walked inside
the last thing I did hear.
"Shhhh, the ball and chain was listening
I saw her in the mirror."
