As the Shadows fade and the sun rises, I feel safe. Safe from what the Shadows of night hold I shiver with the thought of what i have endured. I feel afraid. Afraid that the monsters will come again. As the day dawns bright I sleep. I feel safe. Safe from the horrors that the night holds. I sleep a dreamless sleep. I feel nothing. Nothing from the dreamless sleep. When i awake i see the sun set. Fear consumes me. Fear of what the night will bring. I bolt upright. I look around. Look around and find that which i want. I run to the cold gleam of steel. I feel safe. Safe because I now have a way to fight the Night. ------------------ If poetry is a reflection of what is in a person's soul, then I am afraid of what is inside of me. |
