The Game

Two men stare at each other,
Confusion in their eyes,
A stack of chips between them,
Which now is great in size.

The end seems very close now,
Five cards lay in each hand,
But neither man revealing,
On what five legs they stand.

The beads of sweat fall off them,
Their concentration peaked,
"You raise?" the man asks softly,
Away his blood had streaked.

The other man still thinking,
Caused panic in his face,
"No sir," the man responded,
The words that stopped the race.

The first laid down two sevens,
A pair of kings nearby,
A smile grew upon him,
It's tough to beat kings high.

A single ace the last card,
His rival clearly shocked,
He reached for all the money,
But quickly he was stopped.

The other man showed to him,
Exactly what he had,
Their cards were more than just close,
Which made the first man sad.

Each man possessed two sevens,
Two kings were had by each,
A ace the last for both men,
The chips, for both, in reach.

The cards were stacked together,
And dealt by him again,
The game continued onward,
For each of these two men.

You are my strong melody.
You are my dancing rythm.
You are my perfect rhyme.
And I want to sing forever.
You're my beautiful, my sweet, sweet song.
I will sing again.

Well, another work of art by yourself. I say, if I had more than a child's knowledge of cards I'd probably have enjoyed this even more, still, it's rather lighthearted, if not the cheeriest thing about. I am curious, however, as to the last little section tacked on - I'm afraid I don't follow you there. But then again, it's only one voice out of the many trapped in your head that's speaking now. We can't wait to hear the others!

My signature is, alas, unoriginal. It is the bridge to one of my favorite songs. I could write out all the lyrics right now, but I can't for the life of me remember the title.
