In the space between moments

Well, for those of you who don't live in Minnesota or have never seen Lake Superior, I hope this gives you a somewhat good idea of what a sight it is. I visited it today, and was inspired..

Stretching placidly before me, a great pool of liquid slate,
With diamonds woven throughout frothing waves, a vision so great.
Her shimmering waters are a mirror to the soaring heavens above,
And her cooling breezes flow around, a scene that dreams are made of.

Soft mists lazily rise from distant horizons of hazy blue,
And whitened clouds float above, Columbus's sails billowing anew.
Shadows of a golden tint shift over the slightly fragrant sprays,
And her flowing voice silently sings of quieter, more serene days.

Foamy waves purge forth from the depths of her silvery soul,
Revealing ancient treasures almost forever entombed below.
Fate has been cruel to those who dare tread her water's of beauty,
An endless eternity her wrath has ripped loose for all to see.

But on this peaceful morn, our lady's spirits are calm and gentle,
And with her mildly sounding melody my soul she softly lulls.
Superior's song, a tranquil tune expanding the boundary of time,
Sends a glorifying message of love that is ever so sublime.

Yes, water sure is inspiration, especially when you love it as much as I do. Thank you both for your comments.

Krista~this is sooo pretty....I love being up on the North Shore--it's my favorite place to be. My husband and I went up there for our honeymoon last April and we had a wonderful time. You brought back a lot of memories of that, and of all the other times I've been up there. I know that Lake Superior borders lots of other places (not just Minnesota) but we both know that they can't rival it where WE live!

I hope someday you get the chance to live like you were dying....
