Cleaning up their room
was something of a chore!
I usually pick up every day,
but now it needed more!

I matched up all the puzzles,
put stuffed teddies away,
Put all their game pieces together
so next time they can play.

Seems times have changed too fast,
not sure what creatures they are.
I tried to put their bodies back,
but to no success so far!

One had a leg of blue,
the other was deep red.
I attached what looked like an arm,
and it turned out to be a head!

I only played with Barbies,
and cute babies with hair of gold.
My boys have toys I can't even name,
much less bring myself to hold!

Guess I need to brush up soon
on my toys and what they are,
Cause I need to be able to find them,
now that Christmas isn't that far!

Not half as much fun as putting body parts together!! I have about 15 more bodies...of things that I can't make out what they're suppose to be!!! At least the Power Rangers are color-coded!! lol!

Hey Carolina,

Very beautiful poem about young boys and their toys. The same can be said about "big" boys and THEIR toys. LOL. Anyway, I have two friends that have a total of three sons combined and those guys have toys all over the place. (I practically live at either of their homes) I completely understand. Well written and nice rhythm. Keep up the great work.

Wow - I can sure sympathize with this ! I'd spent many a hour picking up toys and puzzles and putting tiny pieces of lego back in one container! Gawd, don't ever buy kids LEGO kits....you might as well kiss your free time goodbye! I simply refuse to buy marbles, or checkers, etc...I loved your title, by the way !!

LOL - it's those infernal PoKeMon's and the extra pieces you have to watch out for - especially when they metamorphose......
