I'll not sing you a song of love that's long gone
Of shadows that whisper his name
I'll not sing you a song of a grief that is strong
Or passion's unquenchable flame

I'll not sing you a song of a life that's gone wrong
Of bitterness, hatred and blame
I'll not sing you a song that will take you along
Paths of penitance, sorrow and shame

I will play you an air of the things that we share
Of laughter and love among friends
I will play you an air of the life that is there
To be lived and enjoyed till it ends.

Nan, what can I say? Nobody's perfect, least of all me, but thanks, anyway.

Sue,
Only a beautiful mind could write a poem like this. Thank you.

Kind of speaks to the relationships I see that grew on these pages through time.

A lovely poem.

This leaves me wishing that I could write like this.  It's beautiful.  Funny how I keep coming back to the poems that I loved when I was here last.
