Okay, I'll be brief - I experienced a topic in the Feelings Forum today, that bothered me & thus I write this poem for everyone who participates here...(just a friendly reminder of how unique we all are, and that variety makes us who we are !)
Individualism is why it's NOT okay to judge others. We'd be bored stiff if we all wrote the same! Enjoy the variety this forum offers - please!
**********************************************************

Every individual life
is a journey all it's own -
without a map to follow
we must travel it alone.

We all walk through the desert
Through the storm & through the rain -
There is one destination
that we all must reach the same.

Who's to say we've won or lost
In this game of life we play?
For we all take different paths
and we all have different say...

Our individual beauty
Colors like a sunset sky -
This array of varied beauty
Is just like you and I....

Who's to say you're any better
Just because you're not like me -
Each and everyone has purpose
As a leaf upon Life's tree.

Without it's leaves - a tree is bare
No color shining through -
I am orange & you are golden
Everyone a different hue...

When our work on earth is done
Blown away, we find the ground -
Like the leaves we rake in Fall...
we fall softly all around.

As pieces in a puzzle
We must all join hands to be -
"One" - let's help eachother...
A positive society !

*****Be nice & remember we are all brothers & sisters in poetry....art & soul....~~blowing kisses!

Beautifully said poetFemmeFatale, and I wholeheartedly agree, though I must add in all fairness: even someone's desire to judge is a trait of their own individuality!

Oh I agree Christopher....I just want us to "critique" not really judge....that can seem awfully harsh to some. I don't want to see a poet get discouraged because of an innocent comment that was taken as offensive or judgemental. Some people get offended and leave the forum, possibly discouraged enough to lay down their pen.....that is what I DON'T want to see. When poetry is the display of someone's soul, how can anyone label it as BAD Poetry? I just know that 1 or 2 really got their feelings hurt today, I hate to see that....Variety is OK, and also remember we have Beginners thru Publishing Worthy poets in here ! Of course, we're gonna see a variety of quality & style! Let's just be careful as to not damper the spirits of those just starting out.....they are our poets of tomorrow. Jumping off my soapbox for good!!
