The sweetest thing was anticipation.
I had begun to tire of the wait.
I think that line needs an explanation.
Every thought of him made me salivate.

For just about a year I have waited.
The whole time I would ponder and mutter.
His red complexion was overstated.
It matched the color of the drawn butter.

Just looking at him made me salivate.
His legs and claws I did first devour.
His tasty tail was the next thing I ate.
The tomalley tasted salty-sour.

The friendship was one-sided in the end.
This verse told you of my succulent friend.

The old adage of "you can't tell a book by it's cover" fits titles as well...at first blush [lol] I thought this should be in the Adult Forum. Good job, DE! Keep the light ones a'coming!

Ah yes - from a New England beachbum.... "Maine Lobster" can only be rivaled by "Gulf Shrimp" or maybe "Stone Crab" or maybe "Nantucket Scallops" or maybe..... Oh, darn - I love 'em all........

Nan, we both seem to understand the finer things in life. Epicurean consumption of creatively cooked crustacea is a driving purpose behind the obligatory and yearly family visit.

Lobster killer I may be, but he died in a noble cause, as did his sibling.
