I know you've seen cop shows,
On your bigscreen TV,
They're all quite the same
There's no mystery.

Someone is guilty,
But no one knows who,
Not the cops or the mayor,
Nor me or you.

The investigation starts,
and where do they go?
To the local strip club,
But they don't watch the show.

They leave the club clueless,
So what do they do next?
See their informant downtown,
A whore I'd expect.

Then the Captain in charge,
Takes them off the case,
"You're too much involved,
Someone's taken your place."

"Give me your badge,
and your revolver too,
You've been suspended with pay,
For this week or two."

Now I've noticed frequently,
As I'm sure have you-
That when they're relieved of their duties,
They get most of their clues?

This seems to open,
The doors to convictions,
No laws to adhere to-
No legal restrictions.

If these shows are the norm,
'Bout cops in real life,
We could solve all of the crimes,
In just one single night!

Toerag: Ain't that the truth, though??? LOL. Those moments of revelation always seem to come when they're working on their own time! Which is, I guess, why so many crimes in real life go unsolved. *G* Great poem, sweets... I'll look at Law and Order differently now! LOL

Clever & true,
but if men in blue,
were to be free,
to fight with glee,
a gun I'd buy,
so I won't die,
from ill-aimed shot,
at perp they caught,
who'd run away,
no bail to pay,
the cop won't care,
and no one'd dare,
to stop his fire,
no law, it's dire!

Well done Toe, and now that I think about it..... I think it's true about the show... What a coinkidink!

I liked cops 1 better
I shared the jest of it last night with LJA
On the phone
You should have heard him a laughing
It's a shame it had to go.
(I hope you have a copy Toe for him to read in private)

Hey, I have a suggestion! I loved cops 1 also, and was lucky enough to see it before it was edited - post it in the Adult Forum, maybe? We can get away with nearly anything in there! LOL It was a real work of um....art ? Too great a piece to lose completely !!
