(I'm going to be gone for a week starting Friday and wanted to do one more post before I left...pardon the sing song quality of this one, a bit too much rythym maybe for I can't hardly read it without almost singing it)

Rode Hard And Put Up Wet

She’s been rode hard and put up wet
She may be tired, but she ain’t done yet
She’s been knocked down, she’s been abused
Felt a bit neglected and a little used
But she’s not defeated, she’s still got her pride
A little worse for wear, but still dignified
She knows how to laugh and she knows how to cry
And she still knows how to hold her head up high
If you play your cards right and treat her good
You’ll find she’s just a little misunderstood
You might find something that you’re looking for
Might see that her heart is an open door
For she knows how to live and she knows how to love
And if you win her heart, you’ll thank the stars above
For she’ll make you happy, be your hearts desire
And with her tender loving , light your heart on fire
Yes, she’s been rode hard and been put up wet
But she’s a true romantic and she ain’t done yet

Well first of all the titled grabbed me hook, line and sinker. Sing-songs OK by me, moved it right along. This was very enjoyable. Like an old worn leather jacket. The best kind!

Well thank You Andrew...I worried about posting this particular piece because of the so obvious rythym, but I like the meaning behind it and it speaks volumes about my frame of mind right now.

Who can resist the title?  And who wouldn't love the poem?
