One drunk, two drunk,
Three drunk, Four
Five drunks, Six Drunks
Oh my God!
There's more?

It's another night in the ER
Full of the sick and injured
How many are in the car?
How did you say it occurred?

It Monday night
And the ER"S full
Oh man what a site
You were gored by a bull?

Tuesday the fun begins
It's come one, come all
Only in the ER
Are their stretchers in the hall?

Wensday is next in line
What more can I say
Our toilets are divine
I think that's why they stay

Thursday is the turning point
Welcome to my Hell
This is a jumping joint
Where'd he put that bell?

Friday is the best of days
Family Doctors are away
One more trip for x-rays
No, we don't require pay

Saturday and Sunday
Are the days you plan to rest?
I'm so happy you're careful
While in your Sunday best

Shootings and Stabbings
Keep walking in the door
Yes, I know how sick you are
Now please, get up off the floor

Head wounds on drunks
Vomiting on my shoes
No we don't treat skunks
Most don't play by the rules

To here they come
Both night and day
What they truly want
Well, I can not say

A note for work
A sympathetic ear
Drugs for the pain
Or maybe a seer

We treat them one and all
For it's the ER crew who gets the call
Lord knows it's not the pay
But those we help are why we stay.

I'll take a classroom full of kids defying me to teach them something, thank you - Nice job, Dragoness...

Than I am sure I have in my whole five.

Liked your poem... but you can keep your job! LOL (I think I'll quit complaining about mine for a while after reading this... a short while, mind you... but a while! LOL)

Nice job. ER sounds quite demanding...I am glad I am not in that position.
