My need for touch had called up my madness.
Being overlooked drove me to despair.
Looking back filled me with sweeter sadness.
I couldn't think of a reason to care.

This trip returned me to isolation.
It has called up every pain of the past.
I find myself lost in cognitation.
Friends I have now stand out in contrast.

I sometimes miss the way I didn't feel.
Emotional numbness is clarity.
The friendships I have now seem quite unreal.
To my friends I mean no disparity.

There are those I've come to deeply love.
They mean more to me than I feel for friends.
My depth of feeling they know little of.
What course we take on them depends.

This whirlwind of feeling my mind has blurred.
Eyes closed, I reach out to them with my hand.
My mind expects pain and my soul concurred.
My empty heart though I cannot withstand.

Well spoken Dream, but oh so sad my dear friend.

Remember my friend.......I'm always watching you. Keep it up, and I'll return once again.

It seems like a lot of people care for you, DreamEvil. Do look for them in times of despair. Lovely writing.

Dream... *sigh* You know we all miss you and can't wait for you to return. I must admit things don't feel the same without you around. But being able to see your words in the forum gives me a secure feeling of knowing that you are there, watching, somewhere. Don't be sad... we are all missing you and loving you too. And we shall all be here to celebrate your return.

Very true, ac. The forum is my one (perhaps 2nd) refuge from my daily grind.

One voice, I miss you too.
I miss everyone, odd since I'm not really gone isn't it?

I don't see this as a sad poem. I see it as a realistic look at life. Before finding friends, you were 'blocked' off from feeling. Now that you have experienced connection with people who care about you, you have returned to a place where you were content before. But the new person is not content there in that world of 'disconnection'. Is this even close?

I think I look at it more like Ms. DeVine does. It's an excellent piece, my friend. I can relate to it very well.

More than close, Lady deVine. I think it is melancholic hope that drove the creation of this piece.
