Don't let passion get in the way of protection..
STD's last a life time sometimes two..
---------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------
I met up with a friend today,
she was sad in many ways
Her life was just not going well
she asked if I could sit a spell
We found a bench and sat a bit
and she starting coming out with it
All her fears along with tears
came pouring to my listing ears

There were some things that she had done
While out playing having fun
She said that they were big mistakes
As for taking them back, it was too late

I really didn't understand
she seemed always to have the upper hand
I didn't know what she could tell
That made her feel so sad as well
Her marriage of just a few short years
Had been bringing many tears
And in the time of unsure,
something moved inside of her
So she went on to find her smile
And started playing for awhile

Then there was this guy she met
Much more then just a one night stand
So she let go of the upper hand
But she got more then what she knew,
with out a word, without a clue

She started having pain below
So to the doctors she did go
And as she waited patiently
To find out, what she already knew
Her mind did wonder constantly
On how so foolish, and how untrue
Her sadness set her heart on fire
Her guilt filled her heart with ache
Not pill's or shots would undo
What she her self could not erase

His words came so tenderly
Yet, he never gave a clue
But somewhere deep inside of her
she knows,
he knew

How could he be so unconcerned,
not to say a single word,
Was there something deep inside
That made women the target, of his pride?
How sick this was, how sick inside
With out question or delay,
she took this all on her,
And went off to make her way,
with lonely tears she cried,
carrying her wounded pride

She had to tell her husband,
he had to be tested too.
Though both of them did try
There was nothing
either of them could do
There was no turning back
So she left with silent tears
running down her face
the hurt and guilt inside
Could never be erased

As every day she faces
a truth she can not believe
She can't find an answer
Why? women have to pay
So many lost children,
before they saw their face
So many women can not have love,
because of his mistake

So now my friend has left her life
as she and I once knew
She's off to fight another fight,
as her heart beats loud and true

Years had passed before she found new love
in a wonderful light.
And through this love
a child was born,
One Star shining bright

Born with complications,
though the doctors can not say why
Questions live in her mind,
and stay with her all the time
Even though the doctors said
she was not to blame
She carried the guilt inside of her
Cursing at his name

Could she let it eat her heart,
and leave this child, love, behind?
Drowning herself with grief and guilt consuming her mind
Living life in her shell, a lonely world she'll know
Set within the bowels of hell with no where else to go

Then there came a turning point
as she looked in her child's face
A face:
God Himself had painted
With His unending,.... loving grace

In light of all her struggle
In light of all that's gone wrong
If not with out tragedy in her life

* one star, may have never been born *

So its now in quiet anger
she lay's her weapons down,
And battles on, as mother,
with love her battle ground
This one bright star is shining
for all the world to see
No one, can help but love her,
her eyes like the sparkling sea,
Her smile as bright sunshine
As is the mother she's has to love
Lives on earth, in heaven
Thanking God for this perfect love

This is a very touching piece, tori, one which you obviously poured a lot of effort into.

I personally believe all children hold the face of God... Beautiful work, Tori! Very touching emotions! Thank you for sharing this part of yourself.

Hi, Tori, this poem twisted my stomach. I wrote a poem about a child's face, actually THREE, last night.... and I'm delighted to post them for you to look at. I have been away, so I haven't been able to read the poems, but I'm thankful I got to read this one. Much appreciated!

Well, may I add another thing? I was asked to write the poem by someone because she believed I could make people look differently at children, somehow. I had a hard time coming up with it, but it did come out, at the least slight metaphoric.

One of the three....
------------------------------

Divine Tears

For They are Profound As the Oceans;
And Such Humbleness they Bring Forth
To those Listening, To those Feeling,
As My Tears Fall for Each Child
As Their Radiating Face Falls Upon Me;
Mayhaps I can Understand Them
Before the Dusk Comes with the Moon,
Before their Will is Bent Towards Despair;
Not Perfect, Yet Closer to it than Most.

--------------------------------
I posted another called The Summer Ship just two minutes ago, so would you please read it for me?
