Everything I'd wished to say
When at last the moment came
Scrambled into useless chatter
Succumbed to despair and pain.
My heart longed to talk to you
And dared to hope for your reply
But silence cruelly sealed my lips
And hope shriveled up to die.
Then you took me in your arms
And shyness left, leaving no trace
For all was said without a word
In the warmth of our embrace.
