I wrote this poem for an online friend that was lost due to someone getting jealous. It is my first one, so let me know how it moves you or if it does.

Washed Away

As I stand here and watch the sunset,
I think of how the tide comes and goes with each.
I think of how you came into my life,
and made the sands of my heart dance.
But now I think of how that could never be again,
because the tides will never come.
Because you were taken from me as the tide draws
out the sand.
Now the sun has set on my heart and
the tide will never come again.
And all I could do was watch as it all was
washed away.....

Great imagery here, and wonderful metaphor. Welcome to the family and I'm looking forward to seeing more.
