An angel touched my life.
Straight down from Heaven
She reached right out to me

And she touched my very life
Bringing a happiness
I thought I'd never see.

Emotions
I thought that I would never understand
Came rushing
Through me by the touch of her warm hand

As she touched my very heart
Took all my sorrows and
She tore them all apart

And, though, she's gone away
I sit and pray each day
To thank the Lord for sending her
To make me feel this way

Yes, I'm a better man
Because
An angel touched my life.

Definitely a deviation from your normal style, but not a deviation from your usual quality! Even in this poem, there's an honesty that shines through that is hard for others to emulate!

Hello, Balladeer,
It's your angel here.
Don't think I'm Long John,
I've replaced him, he's gone.

I just wanted to say,
After our visit today,
That you're doing quite well,
Now.. go give 'em hell!

Nice poem, 'Deer - kinda strange to see you writing in something that looks like free verse at times, and in rhyme at others. But then, nobody said you were predictable.
