Sun high in the blue sky, walkin' the path you tried.
A stone in your shoe didn't mean to be rude.
A tree you sat by, there was fire in your eye.
Beholdin' your bruised toe, you spoke unkind words to the foe.
In your hand you held the offender, ponderin' what sentence to render.
The condemmed stone in a small voice, spoke these words of choice.
I percieve that you have a need in your heart of a Love that won't depart.
It's true I know but before you go, let me show how I know.
Take me to yonder Oak Tree. See the One taller of the Three?
Yes I do, don't take me for a fool.
A stone talking to me, I should not listen to your plea.
Sure I'll do what you request, I want to do my best.
To find a Love that will heal from above.
See by that Tree a pool of water, go into it My Daughter.
Drop me in the pool and do the same too.
With a small splash the stone sank out of sight and your eyes grew dank.
Remembering the words in your heart you wanted to depart.
But that moment you stepped in, the pool of water widened.
Steppin' in the River up to your ankles, off came your shackles.
Steppin' in the River up to your knees, you thought you would freeze.
Steppin' in the River you thought you've died, but now alive on the other side.
Steppin' in the River up to your waist, you thought what a waste not to have done this sooner.
In your heart you've cried on the other side as The Bride.
Look to the tree in the Middle and see in your heart what you have.
At the Tree where it all began, I now realize what happened.
All I do now is sit and stare into the Abyss of Love you have for me.
