Speaking Volumes

Laying in your arms,
soft silk against my skin,
I turn to look at you, and you smile.
Your hands trace the curves of my body,
less impatiently than hours before;
and each touch brings back memories
to newly awakened flesh.
Whispers leave your lips, in hushed tones,
falling upon ears that have heard
the beating of your heart.
My lips touch upon your own,
quieting whispers,
silencing your tongue,
and ingesting the phrases
before they leave your mouth.
No longer a need for words,
we speak volumes in gentle caresses.
Our eyes, hands, and lips convey far more
than mere syllables ever could.
There will be time for speaking later,
when I lie, spent, in your arms;
my body having told you things
my tongue could have never said.
And I will drift off to sleep,
as you whisper in my ear...
safe in the confines of your love.

That is one volume I'd love to be a chapter in. At least let me be the appendix!

It is a beautiful poem, Hoot.

This was one of the most beautiful poems I have ever read. Good luck finding the recipient of your volumes.

Yo Hoot! Geesch....ya sure make it hard on a guy (no pun intended...yea right) sitting around work, trying to be inconspicuous, and trying to look busy....now I'll have to sit here at my desk for a few minutes before I get up and stand in front of a class!!! LOL....great descriptive writing kid!

LOL.....sorry Toerag....I like to do that with some of my work......always dancing just along the edge, but never once crossing the line. I feel that is what true erotica is all about, leave something to the imagination.
