I wrote a letter to parole
"oh can’t you please just let him go."
A new crime he did not commit
2 years have passed and still we sit.

He’s paying for your so called crime.
Did not complain in all this time.
A missed appointment was all you see,
that took my love away from me.

Its not excuses I will make
for he’s responsible to take.
The sentence that you give to him,
but let him start his life again.

For in this time he’s changed you see
if you would please just set him free.
So we can start our life a new
can’t you hear I’m begging you.

This time I think he understands
he’s ready to become a man.
For in his whole life I believe
no one has ever stood by he.

But here I stand and wait for him
a lonely wife wants to begin,
a life of wedded bliss you see
so wont you please just set him free?

I see this as a sad poem but I don't see it as a hopeless situation because you put hope in the last few lines.

Thank you Ohme, it is very sad... and yes I still hold hope.

As in wars, the true victims are the ones left waiting behind. My thoughts and feelings are with you, Lucie.
