The past holds many secrets
better left untold...
For to bring them to the present
it's bitterness unfolds...
The memories we cherish
may be tarnished by it's gloom...
It's darkness and it's sorrow is to what we are doomed...
Ther is no need to relive the past
for to do so is in vain...
Yesterday's gone, today is here
why relive the pain...
Forget the past as you walked away
and wish it a farewell...
For no longer in the past
will your present dwell...

Leslie, very nicely done....but I am a firm believer that although you should not live in the past, you should let the past serve as a reminder so you don't make the same mistakes in the future.
