be near my love
lie down among the mints
nestle into the lavendar
press your lips to mine
amidst the lemon balm
summer eve breezes
waft the aromas
upon delicate senses
night birds call their mates
as we repose under a crescent moon
nothing but the scents of the herbs
and your hands tangled in mine
as we speak the poetry of love
that has no words

I guess that would depend on the smell now wouldn't it Elvira?

Mastery of imagery Izz.... Ron was right when he turned me on to your talent.

A beautiful poem, filled with beautiful memories of a dream we both still hold dear. It reminds me of another poem... I think you know which one!

Isabelle

I thought this was a very sweet poem, until I got to the part about the Summer Eve breezes. Now mind you, I'm just a man, so I hope you realize that there is no way I would want anybody sprinkling Summers Eve into a fan immediately upwind of where I sit when I guzzle beer and watch professional wrestling. I mean, its bad enough just watching those commercials!!!! What's that? This wasn't a commercial for "one of those products"? oh.... never mind

oops - I forgot to say it - I thought this was a very nice poem. Your imagery was very well written.
