Purgatorial Incarceration

0 posted 1999-08-02 04:24 AM

Slide across your past,
the one you left behind.
Welcome to the future,
we're waiting just outside.

Ignore the blinding pain,
don't tell me of your hurts.
Come up here and join us,
you know, it could be worse.

Forget them please I beg,
you'll miss them yes I know.
But hurry now, no time to waste,
we really must, let's go.

Now Satan comes up on you,
hear the horseman ring the bell?
Fly bright spirit to me,
or you'll surely sink to hell!

Faster now, hurry,
reach out and take my hand!
You're life-time has run down now,
to a single grain of sand.

There now, bright new angel,
oh wait, no need to cry.
For though that life is over,
here's your new life in the sky!

The poem made me sad, I don't know why - it's optimistic, really, and beautifully written.

I know this is dumb, but it is really hard for me to respond positively to this. Someone named chris has hurt me terribly and i can't even stand to hear the name (please don't take this personally). I'm only responding to this because i thought it was very good, your best even, and i couldn't let it pass me by.

Ah, one of those mysterious ones that take you on a ride into the writer's imagination ! And what a ride it was ! Exquisite piece here - take a bow! An ending that certainly caught me by surprise, yet how beautiful...I'm an angel you know ! (alright alright - I heard the whole forum snicker !!) I like to think I am.... That's why I can relate !!!!!!!!!!!

Wow - like this! I didn't expect it to end on any hopeful note - and isn't it great that pFF really IS someone's angel now?
