Auburn haired beauty
she strikes
silent
the curl outlasting the touch
velvet upon rough skin
a decision is made:

her heart she will offer to no one
not even you

you can not claim her
or call her your own

she is not property
for you to fence.

laughing
luminescently,
a reflection appears-
a half smile erodes from her lips
she moves from your touch...

let her go-
her journey away
only strengthens
and is not meant to weaken You

I liked this one for it's clever word play with an issue everyone can relate to...

Christina, I don't know what to say - I like all your work, but it's all so sad...please tell me life has brought you some sunshine too!

A right frame of thinking - no one is another's property. With DeVine around, it seems no poems will be quietly uttered "good-bye" forever. This might be an interesting version of "love is patient".
